Let's get the details right.
This is the questionnaire we send before any new build at Ketchup Consulting. It covers everything our team needs to scope your project accurately, estimate honestly, and start building without back-and-forth.
Take your time. Your answers save automatically as you type — close the browser and come back later from the same device. When you're done, hit the submit button at the bottom and it'll email us your responses as a clean document.
About you & your business
The basics — who's behind this, what you do, and how to reach you.
Used for local SEO, schema, NAP consistency, and legal pages.
One or two sentences. Pretend you're explaining it to someone at a dinner party.
Brand & identity
Visual assets, voice, what you stand for. We'll work from what you have or build what you don't.
Check everything you already have. Don't worry if it's short — we can build the rest.
Pick adjectives that would feel right on your homepage. "Composed, considered, restrained." "Bold, irreverent, confident." Etc.
Things your brand absolutely doesn't say. We'll route around them.
How did the business start? 3–5 sentences is plenty.
Audience & positioning
Who you serve, who you compete with, and where you sit in the market.
Describe them like a real person. Age band, situation, what they care about, what they don't.
3–5 URLs of businesses you're directly competing with. One per line.
3–5 brands you'd want to be compared to — even if they're in different industries. One per line.
Project goals
What this site needs to accomplish, by when, and how we'll know it worked.
One goal. If everything else fails but this works, the build is a success.
Site scope & features
What pages, what features, what integrations. Check everything that applies.
E-commerce details
CRM, email marketing, payment, calendar, accounting, ERP, shipping, custom APIs — anything the site must talk to.
Content & assets
What you've already got, what we'll need to create, who's writing the words.
Specific pages, blog posts, products — anything that should carry over to the new build.
Technical landscape
Current site, domain, hosting, and the tools your business already runs on.
Existing site details
If you own it, tell us the registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.). If you need to register, just say so.
One handle per line, with platform. We'll wire them into the footer and schema.
Design direction
Sites you love, sites you hate, and the feeling you want yours to have.
URL + one line on why. Don't pick competitors — pick sites whose design you'd want to be compared to.
URL + one line on why. Anti-patterns are as useful as references.
SEO & marketing
Where you want to show up, who you're competing with, and what's already working.
Don't worry about being clever — write the exact phrases customers actually type. One per line.
Cities, regions, ZIP codes, neighborhoods we should rank in.
The sites that come up when your customers search for what you offer.
Logistics & compliance
Who approves, what regulations apply, who owns this after launch.
Name and email of the person who signs off on design and content.
Check any that apply. We'll handle the technical implementation.
The open field
Anything we didn't ask. Past bad experiences. Concerns. Wild ideas. The stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else.
What went wrong? What did the agency miss? We'll route around it.
